Transportation


The first 11 fleets set sail from Portsmouth, England, on 13th May 1787, led by Captain Aurthur Philip. The Ships carried over 1500 women, men and children: officers, crew and their families, and convicts from Britain. The fleet arrived to Botanny Bay, New South Wales, on 18th of January, 1788. Each ship was build specifically for long eight months voyage with prison chambers for the convicts and animals such as sheep, chickens, goats cats and dogs.
